| Carl R. Sams II and Jean Stoick Carl R Sams II and Jean Stoick are professional wildlife photographers from Milford, Michigan. Their images have appeared in hundreds of national and international publications. Honored recipients of the People's Choice Award for the best of show 11 times at major wildlife exhibits, Carl and Jean were also the first photographers ever to be honored as featured artists at a major wildlife art event. Since they began photographing in 1982 they have taken more than 60,000 photographs of a particular white-tailed deer family. In an issue of Audubon Magazine, they had the cover and thirty pages of photos on white-tailed deer. In his editor's column, Les Line stated

Carl and Jean spent six summers taking more than 20,000 pictures documenting loon behavior. North Word Press used these photographs exclusively for the 10th Anniversary collector's edition of "Loon Magic." In a captivating article, Birder's World commented that,
